Home About Us My Rats Litters Shows Contact Links

My name is Rackie Powell and I run Symphony Rats. I am based between Reading and Newbury in West Berkshire. Symphony Rats is a registered stud with the NFRS, which I earned in October 2009. I am a member of the NFRS and try to attend as many shows as I can. I am also an NFRS committee member, with two committee positions; Rosette and Show Admin, and Webmaster and Forum Administrator.

I am currently studying for a BSc in Zoology at the University of Bristol. During the term time when I am away, my dad is in charge of the rats' care whilst I am in charge of any 'virtual' rat matters. Due to this, it may be possible to collect rats from Bristol as well as Berkshire.

My main focus is breeding healthy, friendly and happy pet rats; concentrating on the ivory and golden Himalayan varieties. As well as these varieties I will often have black, black eyed Himalayan and black eyed Siamese crop up in my litters. I do not actively breed for either dumbo or rex rats, therefore cannot guarantee either variety unless you are prepared to wait for potentially years!

Particular thanks go to Estelle Sandford (Alpha Centauri Stud), Siobhan Learmonth (Amicus Rats), Jenna Sutcliffe (Hakuna Matata Rats) and Doug Connor (Tenebrae Stud) for their help and advice throughout my original breeding plans, and for providing and lending me rats. Other thanks go to Woody for helping me with my technical issues and Beri for general support and testing out the website!

If you have any queries regarding rats or my website, or would like to be placed on my waiting list for kittens, please e-mail me.
