I find rat shows an important part of breeding. Not only do they provide an excellent venue to meet up with like-minded people and discuss rats for the day (without a single "ugh!"), but I can also gain impartial opinions from qualified judges on how my rats are progressing, type-wise. It is always encouraging to receive a positive critique, and even more so to receive rosettes or trophies!
